German League

The German League, also known as the Bundesliga, is the premier professional football (soccer) league in Germany. It consists of 18 teams that compete in a round-robin format, with each team playing the others twice, once at home and once away. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of German football. Established in 1963, the Bundesliga is known for its high attendance rates and passionate fan culture, as well as its emphasis on financial sustainability and youth development. The league champion is awarded the Meisterschale, and teams that perform well qualify for European competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. The Bundesliga is celebrated for its competitive nature, technical quality of play, and the development of homegrown talent.
