Premier League

The Premier League is the top professional football (soccer) league in England, established in 1992. It comprises 20 clubs that compete annually, typically from August to May. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship. The teams play each other twice, once at home and once away, and earn points based on match results: three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss.

The Premier League is one of the most popular and widely viewed sports leagues in the world, known for its high level of competition, star players, and significant commercial and broadcasting revenues. The champion is awarded the Premier League trophy at the end of the season, and teams that finish in the lower ranks may be relegated to the EFL Championship. The league significantly influences football culture, economics, and international interest in the sport.
