Soccer

Soccer, also known as football in most parts of the world, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. Players primarily use their feet to maneuver the ball, although they can use any part of their bodies except for their hands and arms, unless they are the goalkeeper. Soccer is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Soccer is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. The game consists of two halves, typically lasting 45 minutes each, and is one of the most popular and widely followed sports globally, with millions of players and fans. Major international tournaments include the FIFA World Cup, held every four years, and regional competitions like the UEFA European Championship. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, making it a dynamic and engaging game for both players and spectators.
